What sucks for us we had no idea people were using poison, and when Kody caught the rat it had been about a week till symptoms started showing. It took about 3 days till he couldn't hold onto life anymore. First day we thought maybe he had a heatstroke out in the backyard. So that's why he wasn't moving, but looking back on it that may have been the poison working its killing horrors. he stopped eating and started throwing up we got scared so we lifted him to the vet, they ran some tests and told us they would let us know everything the lab found on the following Monday. That was Saturday when he went to the vet, We managed to get him home and let him rest tried to get him to eat but he wouldn't we were trying to give him medicine when he snapped his jaw down on the syringe. We set his head down only to notice he wasn't breathing. we then started CPR, after 6 minuets of trying CPR, we stopped and all began to break down. This was the same day as his vet visit, hearts were so broken... When we took him to the vet I remember the vet saying an acceptable toxicity in the dogs system was 7-25 and Kody's was 134. My poor Kody was in so much pain.
